Facilitator Qualifications

Three ways to be qualified for THRIVE Facilitator Training include:

1. As a Licensed Professional

Most THRIVE Facilitators are licensed human service practitioners from the fields of:
     Marriage Education and Counseling
     Pastoral Counseling and Ministry
     Counseling Psychology
     Social Work

If you are a licensed human service professional with experience working with couples, you are encouraged to apply for THRIVE Facilitator Training.

2. Practitioner-in-Training

If you are in the process of become a licensed human service professional, but have not yet completed the requirements for licensure, you may apply to become a trained THRIVE Facilitator. To do so, you must first locate a licensed professional who is willing to consult with you and be available to receive referrals from you when you encounter a couple whom you believe could best benefit from professional attention. You can start the process with the application form.

3. Mentor Couple

THRIVE facilitator training is open to lay couples who are embedded and serving in a marriage enrichment network or congregational educational ministry as designated Mentor Couples. To become a trained THRIVE Facilitator as a Mentor Couple, you must have a licensed professional attached to the program who is willing to consult with you and be available to receive referrals from you when you encounter a couple whom you believe could best benefit from professional attention. You can start the process with the application form.

NOTE — as a THRIVE Facilitator, you must be sufficiently knowledgeable about computers and comfortable using a computer to:

  1. Direct couples to take THRIVE online.
  2. Access and print couples' sphere-charts in color (from your own THRIVE administrative account). A color printer is required.
